IN FLIGHT (Poem 30)

Erle Frayne Argonza y Delago

There faraway in the northern lands
Are my sibs, parents, next-of-kins
Spread all over in huge cities
Cities that are like sparkling beads
Of jade from a rosary,
Where they made flights ahead
In quest for milk and honey,
Honey and milk contained
In the lake of bountiness.

There they are waiting! Waiting! Waiting!
There they are praying! Devotionally praying!
Praying that my flight soon commences.

I shall see them soon
I the unexpected caller
Who knocks at noon.
