Erle Frayne D. Argonza
Time was rustic climes covered all thy focals
As one would go around villages after villages
Towns after towns across provinces
Of a rustic rural Philippines
This once sleeping country had surely crossed
The Rubicon to prosperity
Conquering like a Dragon of east Asia
Bringing forth numerous icings to cakes
To celebrate its victories
Farmlands and fishing villages still abound
In towns and hamlets that sleep till now
Where comes our veggies, fruits, meats
Rice & delicacies, fishes & fowl
But malls, bazaars and commercial hubs
Mutate town per town and massive quanta
Idylls are a dwindling facts of life
Farewell rustic Philippines!
Thy memories shall ever linger in my memories
Alive with tapestries of adventures and learnings
